f non-uniform expansion of both the individual and at the same time several segments of the dentition is required, and with the aim to intensify their sagittal-transversal movements, the number of lingual (palatal) and/ or buccal springs fixed on palatal supports and welded between segments of support-retaining wireframes of lateral teeth is increased in the design of appliances, see Fig4.
The design peculiarities of appliances for the upper jaw depend on the geometrical shape of dentoalveolar arch and palatine vault, as well as the tasks set in treatment planning for sagittal and transversal movements of the teeth. Besides arches, palatal wire clasps and wireframes with springs can serve as a base (support) for appliances, which may have various position in the oral cavity: transverse, longitudinal, transverse-longitudinal and different geometric shape: semielliptical, semi lunar, trapezoidal, asymmetric etc. ( see.
